|On the 19th March of 2007 it has acted a hundred and twenty-five years of the first stone of the Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family. The bishop Urquinaona put it on the 19th March of 1882, in an uncultivated land of Sant Martí de Provençals, a neighboring village of Barcelona that had to be absorbed by the Eixample of the capital,. The bookseller Josep Maria Bocabella promoted it, for the acts of cult of his Association of Worshippers of Saint Joseph; and the architect was Francesc de Paula del Villar, who had offered himself to making the project free.|
Gaudí was not, then. He would arrive at it afterwards. And he would turn upside down everything.
We, however, celebrated it. The archbishop Martínez i Sistach spoke about this contribution of the Catholic Church to the high culture and of his desire to beatify Gaudí when rather better. The mayor Jordi Hereu remembered the ends of the 19th century, when Catalonia progressed ambitiously thanks to the complicity of everybody; of which a sample was the beginning of a new temple, like the Holy Family.
