January 2011: Tower of Jesus

While details are completed inside the nave, dedicated to the cult by Benedict XV on 7 November 2010, the great works are still mostly abroad. They climb the Mary tower, about the apse hyperboloid; and the central tower of Jesus Christ, on the cruise and surrounded by the towers of the four evangelists. This tower, the tallest of the basilica, has been designed from the plaster model of the sacristy Gaudí did, as he wanted. Just the same base were extended height, making the whole stretch, so that the paraboloids that will make more elongated. Now it's getting the base of the tower of Jesus Christ. It is a large circular room, which will be located on the vaults of the cruise nave. In the ground, there are open the central hyperboloid and twenty four surrounding it. The side openings of the great room give natural light to the hyperboloid, which enter the nave from the ceiling.
